Suzuki Motorcycles India is all set to start an all-new chapter in the Indian biking brotherhood, as the company plans to launch the Suzuki Intruder 150cc cruiser motorcycle today in India. The Intruder 150 will be based on the Gixxer platform and will share its mechanicals with the naked sibling. Suzuki has been testing the bike in India for the past few months while brochure and other details of the Intruder 150 have already been leaked on the internet. Being a niche offering, the Suzuki Intruder 150 will compete in the entry-level cruiser segment against the Bajaj Avenger 150 Street. With that being said, the Suzuki Intruder 150 will share its engine with Gixxer. The 154.9cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine produces 14 BHP of maximum power while developing a peak torque of 14 Nm at 4,000 RPM. This motor comes mated to a 5-speed transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. That said, the same engine on the Gixxer develops 12.5 Nm of peak torque while power output remains same. As far as dimensions are concerned, the Suzuki Intruder 150 measures at 2130 mm in length, 805 mm in width and 1095 mm in height, while the bike gets a saddle height of 740 mm. The overall design of the Intruder 150 is quirky to say the least. The front section of the cruiser is highlighted by a huge headlamp assembly that gets LED projector lights. The bulbous appearance is carried over to the large fuel tank that also gets long tank shrouds while the tail section is set low and unnecessarily long as well. Suspension duties are carried out by telescopic forks up front along with a mono-shock setup at the rear. The bike comes equipped with disc brakes at both the ends, which are similar to the Gixxer. However, we are not sure if the company will offer ABS as an option or not. Coming to the prices, we expect Suzuki Motorcycle India to launch the bike in the price range of INR 75,000 to INR 80,000 (ex-showroom).
