Google’s trick will help you play Holi with your smartphone or computer, here’s how

It is not new for Google to come up with fresh ideas. The festival of colours is here and Google is here with yet another one of its creative and fun stint. Other than the Google doodle which is unique for every occasion, what you can play around with is Google’s tricks. For Holi, Google has come up with a unique trick and you can play Holi on your phone or computer screen.

Every time you type Holi in Google’s search bar, you can actually sprinkle colours on-screen.

Follow the steps shared by Google India to play Holi with your screen:

  • Go to the Google search app.
  • Type Holi’.
  • Tap on the coloured powder bowls that appear on the right hand side of the web page.
  • Start tapping on your screen. You will notice colours bursting on the screen everytime you click or tap on the screen.
  • To clean the screen, tap on the water droplet on the top of your screen. If it does not appear at first, try scrolling the screen.

The screen becomes clean again in case, you need to use your search bar for productive purposes.

The trick is available on mobile as well as Google web pages and can be accessed by both Android and iOS users. It must be noted that that the trick only works on the search page. It will not appear on other display parts.

This is similar to the trick when Google came up with when Avengers: Endgame was released, earlier this year. On the day of the movie’s release, when the users typed Thanos in the search bar, an infinity-stone studded gauntlet would appear in the upper right corner of Google’s search results. Once the user would click on the egg, half the search results would disappear in front of the user’s eyes.
